WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Effective teaching includes more than knowing your subject matter. This workshop will explore components that contribute to a smoothly functioning classroom—establishing and maintaining entry and exit routines; preventing and responding to classroom disruptions; keeping students awake and engaged; promoting inclusion, and staying on task—all within the climate of respect for and high expectations of students. Deborah Lerme Goodman will share real-life examples from her many years of teaching adults. Participants will have a chance to engage in activities, view video clips that illustrate good practice, and create an action plan for their own classrooms.

This is a two-part workshop. Participants are asked to commit to both sessions.
